Former Chairman of Heartland Football Club, Goodfaith Chibuzo Etuemena a.k.a. ‘Bash’ flew from Owerri to Abuja on Saturday to sympathize with the most achieving Nigerian football club chairman, Felix Anyansi-Agwu who recently suffered a suspected armed robbery attack.
Bash, now the CEO of Owerri-based Bashlyks Sports House And Events Centre, was on his way back to Europe when he made a sudden stop-over in Abuja on getting wind of the Anyansi-Agwu’s ordeal.
Suspected armed robbers were said to have invaded the Abuja home of Anyansi-Agwu located at Gwarimpa Estate in the FCT last week robbing and inflicting injuries on the occupants of the house, including Anyansi-Agwu.
The Nigerian football fraternity has been irked by the attack on Anyansi –Agwu who is currently the First Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
Anyansi was Chairman of Enyimba Football Club for over two decades and was credited for leading the Aba side to two CAF Champions League victories in addition to many other national and international laurels.
The Item, Abia state-born football administrator was believed to have taken the back seat after relinquishing power at the Aba Elephants two years ago.
During Saturda’s solidarity visit, Bash and Anyansi-Agwu later posed for a photograph (see attached photo) to reassure that Anyansi-Agwu’s injury condition might not have been critical.
